CASology 102 - Float

Happy Canada Day! This week's CASology Cue Card is float.

And what popped into mind immediately was 'floats like a butterfly'. So I pulled out my trusty Inkadinkado thanks, and a My Stamp Box butterfly. I wanted float-y colours, too, so I went with Soft Granite and Baja Breeze. I added some Wink of Stella on the insides of the wings. (BTW - still not loving that paint pen - it says clear but looks grey - what am I doing wrong??)

So a super-simple one-layer card - sometimes that's all you need!

And now it's your turn - how will you use this week's Cue Card? Make sure you stop by the rest of the DT and see some more inspiration!

  2. Ha! I love the Ali reference (floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee!)...such a pretty CAS card!

  3. I find that I have to use the Wink of Stella pen much "dryer" than I expect. When I first primed mine, it didn't look the greatest. After I played with it a few times on scrap paper without squeezing it, it looked much better. I store it tip up, and have used it successfully several times since then without re-priming. Might not be your answer, but maybe it will help someone.

  5. So pretty - the butterfly is a lovely color. I'm surprised to hear of your issues with your WoS pen. Wish I could offer a solution.

  6. Of all the different directions my mind went with this cue word, a butterfly wasn't one of them -- this is a perfect way to interpret the cue word! Beautiful soft-coloured card.

  7. Simple and pretty. I did not think of a butterfly at all. I am having such fun with this cue word--seeing all the various interpretations.

  8. Another gorgeous card Ardyth! I had the same problem, if the WoS is overloaded it will look grey, it's easily fixed by wiping the end with a cloth, hope this helps.

  10. Lovely card Ardyth. I agree with you about the WoS pen. The glitter is nice and fine but is silver/grey, I guess the ink it's in is clear so maybe that's what they mean. In which case, I'd like lots more 'clear' versions with different colours of glitter. How fab would that be?

  14. So pretty, Ardyth ... and such gorgeous colours! WoS ... mine was silvery when I primed it ... wore off after a few days of sitting tip up (which is now how it lives). I just give it a quick shake when I use it and it comes out clear (unless the shaking's a bit enthusiastic!). Anita :)

  15. Sweet simplicity with the perfect touch of glimmer - that doesn't look grey at all in the photo!

... I now have 'floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee' playing in my head!
