CASology 43 - Hexagon

This week's CASology Cue Card is Hexagon!

I know that hexagons are very trendy right now. But I'm usually late to the trend parties; sometimes I never arrive. I think hexagons is one I didn't even get invited to. I appear to be alone in that, but really, I don't mind. We can't all do everything, right?

I have spent the last week learning that I find hexagons very, ahem, challenging to work with.  In some ways, they're kind of neat, the way they fit together and create other shapes, but I couldn't seem to come up with a CAS design that I was happy with.

Late in the week, I realized that the only hexagons I really love are snowflakes. And finally, we arrive at my card for this week. Even once I finalized my design, it took a few tries to get it to this, where I like it. There's a feeling that I get when I know the card is done. And I try not to give in until I get there. And that probably also applies to life in general - so you get a bonus motivational speech this morning! lol!

I hope you're motivated to play along with us, despite my trouble.  None of the other members of the design team seem to have had any difficulties at all - obviously they got their invitations! Make sure you go check them out before you create your hex card and link it up before the deadline on Sunday at 4:00 PM CST!

I am right there with you on the hexagon trend. I have a couple hexagon stamps but I struggle with them! I love the snowflakes. Amazing!!

You're too funny! I knew what you were doing when I saw your card...no doubt in my mind! :) Love that your creative genius is shining through yet again!
Oh, and just so you know, I have 3 sets that have a hexagon shape in them and had a very hard time finding any kind of motivation to use them until the last minute! I honestly was just going to go with a bumblebee image! LOL!

Oh my goodness--most creative card I've seen in ages! LOVE that you figured out to use snowflakes & your card is wonderful not even considering it to have hexagons--wow!

Perhaps we are trend rebels!!?? The trouble with trends is they get done to death :0)
Your serene snowflakes are a perfect fit for the challenge and something I certainly hadn't thought of... love them :0)

I'm with you, Ardy, on the hexagon thing, although I did finally break down several weeks ago and get a hexagon embossing folder. Or is it a die? I'll have to go out to the Playhouse and have a look; whatever it is, it's never been used, so this will be a fun challenge and I get to use virgin supplies. Squee!

In the meantime, your use of snowflakes for your take on the word - genius!!

Brilliant Ardyth, of course the snowflakes are shaped like hexies!

I've also passed on the hexagon trend. I love how you've interpreted hexagons as snowflakes, they're so much nicer!

What a great idea to use your snowflakes for hexagons (I find them challenging too)! Your crisp, clean design with silver embossing is so elegant...I love it!

Your card is just perfect. Logically I know that snowflakes are hexagons but creatively it never crossed my mind. You're using both sides of your brain again. ;)

I am sooooo lucky I get to see your genius at work EVERY day! You give so much and don't know you give at all. For instance, today you saved me beaucoup bucks because now I know it's okay for me to skip the chevron and arrow trend, if you can skip the hexagon trend.

Thanks for being so you everytime.

Another awesome "outside the box" design, Ardyth! I have had my hexagon stamps for months, intimidated by the current trend I think, nothing "new" coming to mind. I love that we are challenged every week, especially when something "should" be easy and it's not at all! Your snowflakes are a perfect example of hexagons...so clever, so CAS!

So pretty! So CAS! Snowflakes are the perfect hexagon! :)

I can't tell you how much I love that there are no typical hexagon shapes on your card.
